A small, handy ultraviolet lamp with fold out foot stand, ideal for observing minerals under a whole new light! Due to the properties of certain minerals, placing samples under UV light in a darkened room can help to identify them and differentiate from other minerals which are similar in appearance under normal light. Others may shine in a variety of bright, luminous colours under UV light. This UV lamp comes with both shortwave and long wave light sources. The shortwave light is provided by a tube emitting UV at 254nm. The long wave light is provided by a 4 mW LED emitting UV at 380nm. The shortwave bulb is powered at 4 watts to ensure that minerals fluoresce better than when using most other small sized lamps.
The lamp comes with a wrist strap and small fold out foot on one side, to allow the lamp to stand on a bench top or other surface.
Requires 4x AA batteries (not included). Dimensions (D x L x W): 13 x 55 x 25mm.
Care: Do not look directly into UV lights.
